Everything below is saved in your device's local storage and never leaves it:
None of this is sent to us or to any server — the app doesn't have one. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its app data in your device settings, permanently deletes all of it.
Health considerations you add are a preference signal used to nudge recommendations, not a medical judgment. The app does not diagnose, treat, or guarantee that any suggested dish is medically appropriate. Please consult a healthcare professional for medical dietary guidance.
On the "Enjoy your meal!" screen, two buttons open a search in another app:
Tapping either sends only the dish's name as a search query to Google — never your profiles, preferences, or any other data from the app. Google's handling of that search is covered by Google's Privacy Policy, not by us.
The app requests internet access to load optional rewarded ads and to open the Recipe and Google Maps links above. Recommendations, profiles, favorites, and meal history are stored locally on your device.
What to Eat? offers optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. You may choose to watch an ad to unlock an app feature; ads are not required to use the app's basic features. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data to provide, measure, secure, and personalize ads where permitted. This information is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
Where required, the app asks for your advertising consent before requesting personalized ads. You can decline personalized advertising when the consent choice is presented. What to Eat? does not operate its own analytics service and has no accounts, sign-up, or login.
What to Eat? is intended for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children — in fact, we don't collect information from anyone, since nothing leaves your device.
